Bill Williams Chaos Trading Strategy Part 4 (automation)

Hopefully this is the post in the series that is going to generate some great interest in the Bill Williams trading strategy.

I will demonstrate how Forex Strategy Builder can take these three indicators, the Alligator, the Awesome Oscillator and the Gator and make them into a trading system that generates some excellent money, fully automated.




I want to show you how this started out and then take you through the progression. First, perhaps notice in this pic the number of variables for the Alligator, each indicator in FSB has a few variables that are used in exploring for a solution to the strategy

This pic shows the starting layout, I started the run with the three indicators and you will notice a little chain link on each of them...., the chain link ensures that those indicators are included in all of the calculations while the variables inside each are combined to create a test trading strategy.

For this task I have been running FSB for a couple hours and it has generated hundreds of trading system solutions, most of them are trash, the system will retain 100 of the best ones for me to examine. Up until now the systems has created close to 400 solutions and done close to 125,000 iterations

Now we can have a look at whatever solutions have been saved and try to determine if any of them are good enough to use as an ea. First we will look at the solutions saved in what is called the repository.

As you will see in the picture below, on the left side are several metrics that we can sort by and on the right side is a listing of the results, in this pic they are sorted by the balance.

By using the sort keys on the left and then examining the resultant list that shows up we can quickly determine if we want to further examine a particular result.

This pic shows that the program added a couple things to achieve the results shown above for the solution that is shaded blue.

I point out that the Out Of Sample for this test is set at 35 % and we can see that there were few good trades in the OOS period, therefore this one will be discarded.

So far we have had a look at the beginning stages of developing this strategy which we are ultimately have trading on a real account. I think you have seen that there can be a lot of possibilities with Mr Williams indicators.

As the generator produces more results and better results I will make another post and we can examine more results.

Bill Williams Chaos Trading Strategy Part 3

Another part of the Bill Williams  trading system is the Gator which will be one of the lower indicators in your chart.

The Gator Oscillator is, in a way, similar to the Macd, in that it plots the convergence and divergence of the moving averages that form the Alligator lines. It actually demonstrates momentum.

Bill Williams Chaos Trading Strategy Part 2

This is the second article on the Bill Williams 'Trading Chaos' Trading Strategy.

In this one I will present some information on the 'Awesome Oscillator' and its application.

Using  the Awesome Oscillator with the Alligator Indicator can make for the building of a very powerful and yet simple trading system.

 

Sometimes we traders tend to get a little more sophisticated than necessary and complicate our job. Keeping it simple may be a good approach for traders as there are many, many trading instruments that we can be involved with so we can wait for 'right' entry points. Bill Williams Chaos Trading Strategy

This system is used by many, many traders in all parts of the world, quite a few of those traders do very well with this strategy.

There are many aspects to this system and many interpretations as to what may be a profitable approach to this trading strategy, some of which you will agree with and some of it you may disagree with.

The first part of the system that I will like to illustrate is the alligator, the three moving averages that dominate the price chart and give a very accurate picture as to what is happening with momentum.

Using Trading Signals As Your Forex Strategy

We all want to profit from our trading endeavors and the limitations we have are time and money, sometimes a trading signal is a worthwhile investment.. How best to use our resources.

There are a few things we can do to take advantage of the market and depending on our skill set we can turn opportunities into profits.

Using a Trading Signal for our Trading Strategy

For many people time is limited for learning the ins and outs of trading from charts. Learning to trade is a time consuming process that can last for many years. In that time there is little in the way of income and much frustration.

Chances are good that, even after a few years of study, the rewards will not appear as the market is greedy and willing to take away the initial account balance quickly.

A Trading Signal may be what a person requires. Or perhaps two or three signals that would satisfy his trading goals. A trading strategy does not necessarily mean that a person has to enter all of the trades by hand, nor does a person have to spend hours studying charts and doing fundamental analysis.

A couple alternatives the I suggest is that you look at the Ea's on the left side of this page and also have a look at the signals on the right side of the page.

Between those you may find what you need to fulfill your trading strategy.
